To the point of objectional. Make sure you hear one Before paying. I think 87 would be great but a quiet car is around 87db (at 50 ft) so be sure they tell you where they got that number. Hughes To: Rotary motors in aircraft Sent: Thu, 8 Sep 2005 15:51:41 -0500 Subject: [FlyRotary] Powersport Exhaust Kit I posted this to the ACRE group as well so you may see it twice. In a couple of weeks Powersport plans to offer their exhaust as a kit. This is the system that is running on the two RV8's. Ray indicated they are measuring 81db and has a sound like a quiet turbine. They have over 80 hours on each aircraft with no sign destruction. The system uses machined flanges (no welds) and some inconel parts. The muffler is located in the cowl and is heat shielded with stainless. I have spoken with them a couple of times this week about the kit and a set of flanges to support the Renesis. I have offered to send them an exhaust gasket to use as a template to develop a Renesis flange set. I also ask them to determine what the minimum first production run would be and what they would cost. Ray said to expect the kit information to be on their web site in a couple of weeks.
