E-shaft separation is not required until you have removed the first rotor , rotor housing, and the cast iron section (maybe even the 2nd rotor and housing).  It will be obvious when you have disassembled down to the correct level for the e-shaft split. I can describe how to build a splitter and provide pics when you get to that point.
