Certainly I would expect at least some different way to distract someone from changing a design. Well he will not last in the business with that arrogant attitude.... Hi Thomas, In the US, the dealer for Aeroprakt is Spectrum Aviation (John Hunter, formerly of AirCam). As it turns out, I sent them a message to ask about the availability of the A-36 Vulcan, which is a twin that's made for 912S engines. In my message, I mentioned that I would be interested in using two single rotor Mazda engines. Their reply, was a wee bit less than encouraging, and I replied with my personal feelings on his arrogance and closed mindedness. Here are two excerpts from his message: Hello Rusty. The A-36, now going into production, is out of the development stage (including engine choice, mounts, installation & cowling). It is not an amateur design (like the 'Cam), and consideration of scabbing automotive engines on it seems highly illogical to me. I understand that some people are dreamers & that some like to tinker, but the A-36 is for those who like to fly, and Aeroprakt has taken good care of the engineering. We'd prefer that you find some other design to mess with... In the A-36's last 3 years of development, the only "suggestions" for alternate engines have been: the R-914 (overkill), Jabaru (groan), and now Mazda. It's a human failing that the grass is always greener & there's always a better mousetrap... Cheers, Rusty (scabbing automotive engines) ------=_NextPart_000_00A5_01C59AC9.3542C740 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Message
