I asked Tracy that question a while back.  The answer, as I recall it,
was that engine oil is better for lubrication.  The ATF is needed
because of other considerations in the automatic transmission.  A
separate closed system is OK, but use engine oil, and you need a high
pressure pump.

Buly,  do you have a pump that would be suitable for that application?

   Dunno if there's any advantage to the ATF, for that matter, but I thought I'd ask.
