First, I am running a 13B not a Renesis. My engine has a double wedge shaped oil pan that has the same capacity as the stock 13B pan (5 qts) but is shaped perfectly to not conflict with the wedge plenum that will go above my radiator. I built this pan nearly two years ago. I knew nothing of the capacity of the Renesis pan until Bobby sent me his. I was somewhat shocked by the shallow shape and the low capacity. Clearly this pan has more to do with fitting into the RX8 chassis then it does about being an ideal reservoir for the engine. The good news is that it is modifiable. In fact I would say that it will be easier and cheaper to put a double wedge pan on the Renesis than it is for the 13B. Just a guess at this point but I expect the new pan to hold more than the 13B pan. What ever it holds, it will be a dramatic improvement over the original. I also like the idea of the pick up tube deeply immersed in oil, especially in steep climbs.
