Bill,
There are a whole range of counterweights for different years.
Your best bet is the nearest Mazda engine rebuilder - they usually carry a
lot of different 2nd hand parts.

The 6 port is rated at 247 HP, 159 ft-lb peak torque, 9000 RPM
max. The 4 port is rated 207 HP, 164 ft-lb peak torque, 7500 RPM max.

The automatic transmission won't stand for the 9000 RPM, so the
six port is only available with a manual transmission.

Six runners will, indeed, be a challenge.

Did your RX-8 counterweight look any different from and RX-7
counterweight? How can I tell the difference? I bought a counterweight,
and
I want to know some way to make sure it is the correct one for my engine.

What does the RX-7 counterweight weigh?

         Thanks in advance,
