What is a "post on a board"?

A little stick mounted on the board.  Just something to hold the blade so that one end dangles in the air.

Please note that I can't take credit for this trick.  Had a website in my archives that even included pictures, but I lost it with my harddrive crash and haven't been able to locate it again.
