But I would try to figure why the EGT is that high at max power mixture;
which would generally be about 100F rich of peak. Seems about 150F higher
than it ought to be.
If there is an "ought to be" for egt and egt is above that, I thought we
agreed the only thing that could be wrong is timing - spark plugs are firing
too late and you are getting combustion in the exhaust.
If timing is right - and you are NOT running such a high octane that the
stuff burns so slowly that it is still burning as it goes by the egt probe -
then you just don't worry about it - except you might worry about the life
of your exhaust system parts.
