While cranking, the rpm display on the EM2 was constantly

flashing 0 and NOP!  Anyone have a hint what that is trying to tell me??

I’m pretty sure it is telling you two things: a) your engine is not running (duh!); and b) there is some disconnect between the EM2 and EC2, or the EC22 is not powered up.

 

As Ed suggests, the first thing is always to see if there is spark, and if the injectors are firing. The second thing is to go to step two.

 

I realize that this may not be very helpful but we are far away with little info.  It most likely has something to do with the wiring you did, especially if it could affect power to the EC2.
