And THAT people.. is what ANY circuit protection device is supposed to do.. Protect the wire.. not the device. Nothing more, nothing less. You size the wire to the load required, the size the fuse to protect the wire from starting a fire. I'm partial to the CB line of thought.. with ALL of them being pullable for maintenance/troubleshooting issues. If something needs redundancy, you use two circuits to two redundant devices. You can treat a CB just like a fuse, and NOT reset it until you are on the ground.. but at least you have the option.
