Got the new prop back from fine tuning and finishing and I'll Say that Clark Lydick of Performance propellers knows what he is doing.  I asked for 100 rpm increase (285 rpm for the engine) on the prop. The prop is now 74x88 vice the 76x88 I flew with.

Hi Ed,

Glad to hear the prop is back. Looks like you're back to what Tracy has, and what I started with.  I was getting between 5900 and 6000 static (6800 WOT at 8000 ft) during the summer last year, so we're neck and neck on power, at least up to the new intake.  There's definitely a black art to the prop business.  I wanted 500 more engine rpm, and he left the diameter at 74, but reduced the pitch from 88 to 80.  You wanted 285 more engine rpm, and he left the pitch at 88, but reduced the diameter.  Guess that's why he gets the big bucks :-)

I'll be interested to hear what your new intake does.  It always confuses me at first when you post pictures of these things, because I'm just used to looking at plugs-up parts.

Cheers,
Rusty (area flooded, roads washed completely away in the neighborhood- not an April fools joke)
