Jim,
This is exactly the drain valve I'm using.  I'll have to try that little
trick with the hose spring.  Pretty neat!  I bought mine at Pep Boys.
That was a while ago (when they had decent sales help).  I don't think
they still stock this item.  Mark S.

Look at the note to "safety wire" the lever using hose spring.   To use
