They would not renew my policy in December when I told them I was putting a rotary engine in it. I tried to work through the logic of why the engine mattered on a builders risk policy. The best answer they gave (which I thought was BS) was if you finished building and started flying without notifing the insurance company, in some states the ins company might have to cover any flight losses.

Bobby,
I just got builder's risk from Nation Air in December so don't think there will be a problem.

Has anyone had any luck getting a Builders Risk Policy when putting in a rotary? I just spoke with NationalAir and they indicated I may not be able to obtain a Builders Risk Policy. Thanks,
Bobby
