It's not sawed in half - that's the %$&# development pattern. Now the wear surface on this baby is Nitrited 4340 STEEL and your right Dave this baby is SPECIFICALLY designed for P-Port (no inlet port).

Umm... if thats the right plate, you need to recognize that its been sawed in half to show the coolant channels. My best guess is that is a specially made end plate for a peripheral port engine. I dont see any sign of old intakes that were plugged.
