Hey, Bill....on our Volvo trucks we have a small, inline heater valve which opens flow to the floor mounted heater core. It has 5/8" barbed fittings on each end, and a simple lever in the center to which a push-pull cable is attached. There is also a bracket on the unit so that it can be hard mounted so that when the lever is moved, the valve remains stationary. I will try to find a part number and take a picture. Paul Conner

Thanks for the link and information. I asked at several sources, and they only had the vacuum operated ones. I prefer a cable operated one and thought they existed, but hadn't found them. Thanks again.
