hi all, we have examined at least a dozen housings with a 30 power
microscope and can find absolutely no evidence of porosity or cracking. has
anyone got proof that they are so made?
one thing
we would sure appreciate an explanation for is the concave finish grind with a
slighly smaller radiis directly on top of the exhaust port. we have an analysis
of the steel liner, it is a free
cutting manganese steel annealed and very soft. the fingers on the back side
appear to be cut with a knurling type tool about 3/8 wide leaving the fingers
segmented from one side to the other. the
butt joint where the liner welds together is right where the periferal port is
being cut. we feel that our reman. housings will be better than mazda's.
because of the time and care we take doing
the job right. hope to have housings available soon at about $300.00 dont
throw away those old housings , we will buy cores. thanks for your help solving
the problems. walt williams
