When I told Transport Canada my situation, they were more than fine with 2
of us going up as flight crew for the first test flights. Experienced pilot
was the test pilot and I was the flight engineer who was intimatly familiar
with the engine. It worked well as we were each able to concentrate on our
duties, which sure seemed to be busy.
When I am testing things with a lot of gauges and dials to watch, I often set up a video camera to record the readings. You might consider doing this.
You can put a small microphone in the ear cup of your headset so you can make comments that will be recorded by the video camera.
