Hearty congratulations, Bernie!
Great to hear you have passed the next to biggest hurdle - the biggest one
is ,of course, your decision on when to go {:>).

I considered having a test pilot fly my rotary powered bird for the first
flight but decided against it.  While I had not flow an RV, I believed I was
capable based on all the stories I had hear about how easy it is to fly.
But, I decided that if there were any serious problems that it would be
engine related - and like you - knew more about it than any likely test
pilot.  Good thing, too.  The oil temp got so high so quickly on the first
flight, it was once around the pattern and land - whereas I don't think a
240F oil temp to a Lycoming pilot would have fired off the alarm bells quite
as quickly as it did for me {:>).

Glad to hear you are approaching the magic time.  The prop and burgundy
spinner has always got me back on the ground safely, it'll do the same for
you.

Ed A

Congratulations Bernie, and good luck. Who was your DAR?

DAR was Johnny Murphy of Merritt Island. 321 783 1515

Johnny has done 3 planes in my hangar now and I think he competent and
fair. He has built at least one of almost every composite kit out there.
