Actually, Kelly, it is possible to not receive the list in your email box 
but still have posting capabilities.  I have a secret switch I can throw 
that allows it... it's a special kind of subscription that allows the list 
to recognize your email address (so it will pass your posts) but it doesn't 
put the address on a distribution list.  We've got quite a few people who 
prefer digging through the web archive to receiving the emails and they 
still have posting privileges.  We aim to please!  <g>
