Hi Ernest,

No pressure, I won't be ready to think about something like that till
after I get the plane flying.  It does sound like a good idea if the
gears are sturdy enough to handle the load.  Bill Schertz mentoned some
concerns about that, and the consequences of breaking the gear driving
the crank angle sensor.  I think if I were to consider it,  I would
move the triggering to the ring gear.  In fact, by doing that, the
alternator could be put in where the CAS is now.  I agree with Bill
though.  I would like more solid info on whether the gears are really
robust enough to handle the load.

Bob W.

PS:  If you are doing 4 things at once you're doing better than me. :)

I was talking about it, Bob.  But that's all it is so far.  Just talk. (Give me a break.  I can't do but 5 things at one time. OK? 8*)

The good new is that I've dropped 3.5lbs (+/- .25) from my PSRU housing, and the stainless steel channel for my wing ribs should be here tomorrow.  I'll be getting around to that alternate alternator 'real soon now'(TM).
