The dipstick is fabricated by flaring a piece of
3/8" tube, installing the collar and nut, and flaring the other end as close
as the flare tool would allow. A piece of 1/4" tubing then is flared and
fits down through the 3/8" tube to form the dipstick. JB-weld then fills the
upper end of the 1/4" tube and bonds it to the 3/8" tubing.
