After seeing Tracy's on his RX-8 engine for Redrive oil return and location of oil dipstick, I felt that his solution fitted my situation rather well. My intake manifold precludes using the standard dipstick location.

First I tapped the side of the rotor housings with a 1/4" NPT thread. The oil return is centered in the housing so that the returning oil from the redrive will impinge on the internal web and be de-aerated. The tap for the dipstick is offset from center to clear the web and allow the dipstick to enter the oilpan.

The dipstick is fabricated by flaring a piece of 3/8" tube, installing the collar and nut, and flaring the other end as close as the flare tool would allow.  A piece of 1/4" tubing then is flared and fits down through the 3/8" tube to form the dipstick. JB-weld then fills the upper end of the 1/4" tube and bonds it to the 3/8" tubing.
