Hi John,
The Wiki isn't intended to compete with the mailing list or a forum. It's oriented more toward collecting useful information in one place and
as such it competes more with a FAQ. The advantage of the Wiki over the
FAQ is that anyone with an interest can update and correct it. The TikiWiki software I'm using includes a number of other features including image galleries, blogs, and forums. I haven't implemented any
of them because they weren't related to the problem I was focusing on. I'm not knocking your forum idea. If the group prefers that venue, I will certainly participate. The one thing I like about the mail list is that the posts are pushed to me. I don't have to go looking for them.
