So they are gravity fed and I installed them in such a manner to provide upslope path for any bubbles (making it easy for the bubbles to migrate up and away from the pumps). Do I still need the bypass? I wander  about that myself. My fuel lines, fuel filter, and fuel pump= s are below tank level. So they are gravity fed and I installed them in such= a manner to provide upslope path for any bubbles (making it easy for the bu= bbles to migrate up and away from the pumps).
