Greetings,

I put the engine back=20 together yesterday with the = help=20 of Bruce=92s excellent video.  Seems to be glued together = more than=20 bolted. =20 Spent way more time with a brush than a wrench. =20 Everything went reasonably well with a couple = exceptions.  My overhaul kit was = missing the=20 corner seal springs, and I didn=92t realize that the oil seal = springs weren=92t=20 included in the kit, so I = had to use=20 springs from the original assembly. =20  I also had to = use one=20 corner seal, because I managed to break one (don=92t = ask).

I still = measure =BD=94 of slop=20 on the new oil chain, which is the same as the one I took off. = According to=20 the video, that=92s too much slop, so I have a message into Tracy = and Bruce=20 about it.  I'm guessing this has to be normal, but = it was a=20 good place to stop last night, and I'll wait for an answer before = putting=20 the front cover on.

The engine=20 has a K spacer, and .002=94 end play. =20 Turning the engine shows that everything seems to work, and = that I=20 got too much Hylomar on the housings. =20 It seems to be collected by the apex seals, and I=92ve wiped = off all I=20 can get to through the exhaust ports. =20 Shouldn=92t hurt anything. =20 When I get an answer on the oil chain, I=92ll close up the = front cover.=20  Overall, I=92m = convinced it will=20 run, and I=92m pretty happy with my first rebuild.
