Subject: [FlyRotary] Fram Oil Filter Pressures
Greetings,
I intended to use an HP1 racing filter, but thought it wouldn’t fit,
so I picked up a shorter PH43 filter. As it turns out, I was able to
fit the larger filter by turning it about 45 degrees from vertical,
but when I was considering the other filter, I asked Fram for the
pressure rating. Here’s their reply for both filters in case anyone
is interested.
Cheers,
Rusty
Fram’s reply:
The PH43 has a burst pressure rating of 200 PSI. The recommended
operating pressure should not exceed 80 PSI.
The HP1 has a burst pressure rating of 500 PSI. The recommended
operating pressure should not exceed 200 PSI.
