Subject: [FlyRotary] Oil cooling- Ed?

Ed and all,

Can you confirm that you can take off, and climb as long as you want without being limited by oil temps?

I'm still debating about trying the smaller Fluidyne cooler that I have, rather than the larger one that's still on backorder.  It would just fit sooooo well.  I'm willing to open the scoop up as needed, and it would be a much better inlet and outlet than I've ever had before.  I'm even willing to believe that the Fluidyne cooler is at least as efficient at the stock 2nd gen cooler.   Clearly I'm trying to convince myself it will work.

FWIW, the core dimension is 9.375" wide, 5.875" tall, and 3" thick, for a total of 165 cu in volume.  Best I can tell, the stock 2nd gen core is 19.5" wide, 4.5" tall, and 2" thick, for a total of 176 cu in volume.  Am I dreaming or what?

Thanks,
Rusty (I will NOT run this engine over 210 degrees oil temp)

Hey, Rusty....check out the "Monster oil cooler" offered by rotaryextreme.com     www.rotaryextreme.com/findex.html   Claims to be the largest rotary oil cooler.   Paul Conner
