Rusty,

These pans come with steel studs to use instead of our oil pan bolts. I am guessing they will be to short to use with Fred's mounting plate. Does anyone know how thick the MMP1 plate is? I do not see it listed on Fred's site.

Would the rear sump in an RV actually be the front sump in the car? If so then I was thinking I would need to front sump pn# 20942.

Hi Bobby,

I completely agree.  The more I look at this pan, the more I wonder if it will fit my mount.   Hmmm, gotta measure.

The only problem with high oil levels that I know of is in the front cover area, where the counterweight, and oil chain can whip the oil into a frenzy.  Having the sump directly below the front cover will probably eliminate the problem.  The other thing that helps is increasing the distance from the bottom of the engine to the top of the oil level.  You'll be doing that to some extent with Fred's mount plate, as long as you lower the oil pickup to make up for the plate thickness.

Cheers,
Rusty

PS- I just measured, and think this will work with one small cut and weld operation.  I'm ordering one now from Summit.  Thanks again for pointing this out.  Excellent timing !
