Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: banjo oil
fitting
Hey, Rusty....I braved the 50 degree cold
temperatures and went to the hangar and removed the cowling to take these
pictures of the fitting I substituted for the banjo fitting.
I appreciate your brave sacrifice Paul,
however, I think I've all but decided to make a new oil return point on
the (as yet to be determined) oil filter adapter block. I
stopped in Advanced Auto today, and found a rack of oil pan plugs,
with an 18mmx1.5 for the low low price of $1.98. I have to use it now,
because it's the cheapest thing I've ever bought for the plane
:-)
Cheers,
Rusty (trying to find out if my new Trane unit is set up
properly)
Hey,
Rusty....I wish I had known you were going to buy that 18mmx1.5 pan plug for
$1.98. As a mechanic, I get a discount. I think I could have purchased
it for you for around $1.58 (20% discount). Perhaps if you return
it....(kidding of course, please do not return it). I don't recall
buying ANYTHING for my airplane that was that inexpensive. Take
care. Paul Conner
