In my local Pep Boys store the oil pan plugs are hanging on the rack with the other hardware in the hardware aisle. I have used these metric oil pan plugs as adaptors by drilling and tapping for NPT threads and then using a standard NPT-AN fitting.

I can already picture the guy walking toward the computer as he asks "what vehicle does it fit" :-)    Seriously, this doesn't look like it would be too much of a problem.  I already found a couple motorcycles that use it, and some type of Toyota transfer case.
