I don't think number 6 there can be categorized as a rationalization. 
Seems to me that it is the whole point (for everyone except Rusty, who
just likes to collect things 8*)

But it is great to know that only two disk will drop 20dB.  I have no
idea how my 'spintech/collector/manifold/muffler thingy' will work to
keep things quiet, but it's nice to know that I may be able to just
follow your lead and add a couple disc.

Now I'm waiting for you to finish the experiments with the H pipe so I
can decide on how long to make my header pipes! 8*)

Ernest (strong believer in the first step of the scientific
method...study what other people have done)
