I had some oil discharge from the crankcase vent tube. I have never had any oil come out of it before, and up until a month ago, it was just hanging open. I did connect about an 18" piece of tubing to it, and just have it sticking out above the intake manifold. Today I made 2 flight, both were short, about twice around the pattern and landed. I had oil on the cowling inside and out after both flights. The total oil ejected was probably about a cup, or cup and a half. After the first time. The oil was still right up to the full mark, which is really over full, since the mounting plate adds a half inch to the oil pan depth. I am wondering if being overfull was the cause. Originally there was a tube from the crankcase vent to a fitting on the side of the filler tube. It has been just hanging open since I started flying, and has never ejected any oil before. Does anyone have any thoughts as to why this has suddenly started ? All temps and oil pressure are normal. Steve Brooks Cozy MKIV Turbo Rotary,
