I'm just trying to catch up on my list reading and I see that
you were asking about turbo EGT probes a few days ago. I've done exactly
what you want to do. I posted pics to the list previously, so rather
than fill the archives with repeat postings with pics, you can just

So far it has been working fine. I see temps at the exhaust
ports of ~1750F, but a few inches later at the turbine inlet the
combined temp is usually ~1700F. After the turbo the temps are usually
less than ~1000F.
