I fabricated an adapter to replace the old filter mount, and then used an aftermarket remote filter adapter. It uses a PH-8A type filter. I was able to hang it to the bottom on the plugs side of the engine off the pan bolts. That way I don't spill oil on everything when changing the oil/filter. The oil flow is from the front cover outlet into the filter, out of the filter into the oil cooler, out of the cooler and into the adapter block. =20 The oil filter adapter block is a good place to put a temperature sensor as it gets exposed to a good flow of oil. Be sure that there is a clear passage between the two holes. One hole goes to the oil bypass, the other feeds the bearings. Oil needs to get to both. =20 Mark S. -----Original Message----- From: Rotary motors in aircraft [mailto:flyrotary@lancaironline.net] On Behalf Of John Downing Sent: Wednesday, December 22, 2004 2:14 PM To: Rotary motors in aircraft Subject: [FlyRotary] Oil filters Who in the group is working on the inverted oil filter mount. I forgot to make a note of it and it looks like I'll be needing one to eliminate one more wart on the cowling. JohnD --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
