Hi Ed, I'm suspecting that when I blocked off the oil filter mounting pad on
the engine I did not connect both openings with a groove in the block off
block. I see that all block off pads have a groove connecting both ports. I
forgot about it.
I'm getting oil through the remote oil filter and oil cooler to the oil
mount pad on the engine.
I'll do the correction today and let you know.

Buly, when I first tried bring the oil pressure up in my engine by cranking
(without plugs) - no oil pressure. I then took the oil hose off from my oil
filter to oil cooler - no oil flow. Turns out I had reversed the IN-OUT
lines to the remote oil filter and that prevented flow. I have heard of
that happening to others as well. I had thought that the IN to the oil
filter went to the inner part of the filter and the OUT was taken from the
outside part of the filter - turns out its just the opposite.

Today I took the first step of starting the engine and stumbled right
away.
Poured 3 qts of oil in and started cranking with the plugs off. Checked
the
oil and it was down. Means that the oil pump primed right away.
Overall it took about 7 qts. The bad part is that I had the turbo oil feed
(original steel tube setup) disconnected and waiting for the oil to show
up
- no luck? I attached a clear hose and tried to pull vacuum, but I can
hear
the air whistling in the oil filler tube. I'm suspecting something wrong
with the oil pressure valve, but also want to hear from the experts.
