Greetings,
I finally looked through the oil
analysis stuff today, and called Blackstone Labs. They said it would be
better if I had submitted a previous sample, but they would have a good idea if
anything was wrong with my engine from a single sample. They
normally suggest that you capture the sample when the oil is hot, and not
capture your sample from the first oil to drain, or the last. In my case,
I have no choice but to submit the last cold ounces that came out of the
pan. They said it would still be a good test, so we'll see.
Their order info says to expect the sample kit in 2-3 weeks, and I'm not sure
how long it takes to get results back, but I've got a few weeks to kill anyway,
so I guess it doesn't matter.
Cheers,
Rusty (ordering stuff)
