Are you saying you've already cut open the filter
and
completely drained the oil from the filter element?
I'm using an inline
filter from Peterson's, that screws apart to get to a screen that can be
cleaned, and reused. I've taken the filter housing apart, and have none of
the oil that was in it. I didn't clean the screen though, so it still has
any crud that it collected.
