    Will the use of non-resister plugs cause any problem with the

EC-2 or the GM coil/igniters that you are aware of ?

As long as either the plugs or the wires have EMI provision, the coils & EC2 should work fine.  I do know that straight copper wires (even with resistor plugs) caused the Mazda coils to misfire at high speed.  Never did find out why.
