I ran glide test on my RV6A with a fixed pitch Sensenich metal prop. Could not measure any difference in glide with the prop stopped or windmilling. There is a difference with the engine at idle, but not as much as I thought. It is a big function of your idle speed and prop pitch. With the big pitch on RV's it is hard to get idle low enough. I understand it is really a deal on 9's with the higher aspect ratio wings.
