I still need to find some references for unshrouded fan design though.......
Any ideas or hints?

I talked to Bernie for a while tonight, and thought of one problem with any design that requires a shroud, or fan larger than about 22" in diameter.  I want to be able to roll this thing in and out of my garage without having to disassemble it.  One of the first things I did was to take off the 3-blade prop, and put on a 2-blade for that very reason (and the fact that the Warp Drive prop looked like it had eaten an entire cylinder).  I'm pretty skeptical that I'll do better than a belt drive with a two blade prop.

Thanks,
Rusty

Well, I guess that is the end of the Fan-Slingshot. I doubt you would get away witha 2-bladed fan.
You need to raise your house or lower the garage floor.............
