Yup it breaks the rules. Its a car manifold. However, notice it has gussets on the all the flanges to the pipes, and is also welded internally. Stress relief-who knows. Not on this item.

1) The pipes are welded to the outside of the flange.  Isn't this setup prone to cracking at the flange?

2) There isn't any built in stress relief.  Or is that the point in all the bends?
