The existing Inconel isn't thick enough to thread the 3/8" Straight Pipe threads. So, you've convinced me and I just order a stainless welding bung from McMaster. Joe (will I ever get to start my engine?) Hull Joe; You can start your engine without the O2 sensor. Just set the mixture for it to run smooth. I did a number of runs at lower power before I gave up getting the heated O2 sensor I bought to work. O2 sensor is nice to have for setting mixture correction table, or for fine tuning the mixture.
