A possibility, Buly.  I do know that if you have an air leak on the pickup side, it is very, very difficult to get the oil pump to "suck" oil when it can more easily suck air through the leak.  Although normally, I would expect the problem to be  more noticeable on first startup when the engine oil is cold and harder to "suck".  However, heat could possibly cause the air leak hole to expand? and let more air into the system acerbating the problem as the oil temps increased.  Certainly worth putting on the "check it" list.

HOLD THE PHONES! I just remembered John did some work on his buggered up oil pick up tube. If the tube is not seated properly at the flange, he may have air leak. If there is an air leak, the thinner the oil gets, less suction he will have. Less oil in the system = less oil pressure?
What do you think?
Buly
