Might be a good plan to discuss having a = wider test area before he comes. =20 40 miles? It's supposed to be 25 by default, so he already cut you a = break. Most DARs will work with you on this, and I know an RV-8 guy who got the whole state of NM as his test area. The one and only bad thing about = the DAR out of Dothan is that he will absolutely NOT give you more than 25 = miles (I've tried 3 times). Keep in mind that you can center that 25 miles = around some point other than your airport, as long as your airport is within = the radius. I did that on the two previous planes, but 25 miles, centered = on the airport was just about right for the rotary project. I bet I spent = 30 hours within gliding distance of the runway, because I was always = testing something on the engine. =20 =20 Paul, I'll give you a ring before leaving the airport, and see if you're around.
