Typical Lamar. Can you say "opinionated"?
One interesting point though is the impeller. Looks like there might be room for improvement. Someone could make an optimized design and make a mold and sell "aftermarket" impellers for this pump :)
Assuming that the current design is not already ideal...

You are correct of course.  I think it's pretty funny that PL found a way to condemn the pump without clouding his judgment with any actual testing :-)
