Please do not go further south! Lake City was wonderful (but I like Shady Bend LOTS better!). We drove almost 1700 miles round trip and would hate to have have to drive to Lakeland. Maybe Lake City would loan us a hanger (or maybe Live Oak, right off I-10 - nice little airport).
And MANY thanks to Laura and Tracy for a wonderful weekend!!!!!!!!!!!

Some thoughts of mine for next year's roundup. We should consider finding a location that can handle the canards since they do not like grass runways. Location would have to provide a building we could use to feed and hold our "hangar talks in". The building could be an EAA club house or an empty hangar. The flyin should be dedicated to only interested "rotor heads".
Hi Bernie,
I absolutely agree with the above. The only additional caveat would be that it be close enough to Tracy and Laura to make sure they don't miss it. At some point, the fly-in has to leave Shady Bend, though it won't be quite the same. Lot's of people come to these things with lots of interest, and no first hand knowledge of rotary engines. Tracy's hanger is sort of a treasure chest of goodies, where people can actually fondle engine parts. As much as I pick on the backwards plastic plane types, they are a growing segment of our population, and we should try to accommodate them. Maybe NASA will let us use on of their shuttle runways :-)
Cheers, Rusty
Lakeland is looking for events to be held at their airport. They also have all the facilities. Another thing, we could have a “parts swap” during the event? Bulent
