Good luck with first engine start, Joe....Suggest turning on fuel pumps to pressurize your fuel lines, then shutting off all electrical and look for any signs of fuel leaks prior to start. (After the pumps pressurize your fuel lines). Also turn on boost pump if you have one, and check for leaks. Once you are sure there are no fuel leaks under pressure, go ahead and fire it up, but I suggest only running if for a minute or so, then shut it down and look for fuel, oil and water leaks.  Then if no leaks are found, run it for say 5 minutes, shut down, and test to see that your water is flowing properly to the radiator. (check the top and bottom of the radiator with your hand to see if warm water is getting to both the top and bottom of the radiator). Do the same for the hoses going into and out of your oil cooler and radiator.  Then wipe that silly grin off your face.  Good luck.  Paul Conner

Wow, it sounds like everyone’s problems are getting resolved (well maybe everyone except John).

Paul Conner is taxiing away (congrat’s, by the way) –

Must be a good time for me to start my engine for the first time!  I’m probably going to give it a go this afternoon. I don’t have my exhaust manifold/muffler back from the welder yet – BUT I CAN’T WAIT!!

So, aside from ear protection, a fire extinguisher, a hose, and a speed-dial set to 9-1-1 (and of course a request for God’s blessing – and mercy), is there anything else I should do?

I’ve got the MicroTech ECU just like Paul Conner.
