Congrats Paul!  It sure is fun :-)

Hi, fellow rotary enthusiasts....Finally hooked up my radio antennas so I
could taxi the 13b powered SQ2000 under it's own power today.
Running rich
at lower idle speeds, but smoothes out around 1500 rpm's.  I ran it up and
down the taxiway several times, then back to the hangar, shut it down and
felt the radiator and oil cooler to make sure the radiator was
warm at both
the top and bottom.  After approximately 4 engine starts and taxi runs,
water temp was approaching 210 F so I taxied back to the hangar
and shut it
down. Oil temps got up to 160.(stock Mazda oil cooler) after   about 5
minutes of cool-down time, the water temp was back to 190 or less.  No
visible oil or water leaks.  I am now pretty sure I am running a little
rich, because during one engine start, the engine was faltering, so I
momentarily turned off the high pressure fuel pump, and it smoothed out
immediately. When it sounded like it was going to run out of fuel (only a
few seconds later), I turned the fuel pump back on and the engine
continued
running.  On one pass down the taxiway, I got up to around 4000
rpm and the
aircraft was accelerating very rapidly.  I have no doubt this engine has
enough power to fly this aircraft.  When it is not running rich, it is an
EXTREMELY smooth engine.  I just finished re-reading my MicroTech manual,
and since I have the handheld keypad (panel-mounted, actually), it is very
easy to change the mixture. I should be doing more testing and
tuning in the
next few days, and I will advise. Right now, I have to try to wipe this
silly grin off my face.  Keep building, guys (and girls), when
you actually
get to start the engine and taxi your creation, the fun begins.  Paul
