I wish that there was a great answer for the oil temp question. The failure
from over temp oil is a rotor bearing loss. Why? It has the highest stress on
the bearing overlay.

As always, a rotary education in every email :-)   This is the first time someone has actually explained the reason for the oil temp recommendations, and it finally makes sense. 
 
If the numbers you're quoting are in the pan, then I guess seeing temps in the 220-230 range after the cooler is probably aiming for the devils favorite chair.  I'll just keep 210 after the cooler as a hard limit, to be exceeded only if there's some sort of emergency situation. 
 
Thanks again for the awesome message.  I always feel guilty asking you questions, because I know you'll spend the time to write long complete replies.  If you ever decide to write a book, I'll be in line for the first copy.
