Excellent point, one I wish I'd thought to mention sometime earlier
myself.
 I, too, have seen the various defects Rusty describes (and others), but I
just never thought to bring it to anyone's attention.  The most
aggravating is
the thread-less plate nuts... who thinks to try them out before installing
them? I know I sure didn't  8-(

I'm sure glad to hear that someone else has also installed thread-less nut
plates. Of course only the ones that are in the most difficult to replace
